Forty Fantastic Picture Books!

I’m turning 40 tomorrow, so I decided to celebrate by sharing a list of 40 fantastic picture books. These are books that my children (ages 3 and 4 and a half) have wanted to read multiple times, plus books that I loved reading aloud. Some are library books, some are books we own, and some we received from Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library program

Here they are in no particular order.

There you have it! Forty fantastic picture books.

Please join Maryna Doughty and me for Thursday Read-Throughs. We read and record our first read-throughs of PB, MG, and YA works (1,000 words or less).

What are some of your favorite picture books? How about your top four? I’d love to add them to my To-Be-Read list for 2021!

This was from a display at my local library last year.

Thanks for reading!

  1. Happy early birthday, Sarah! Thanks for sharing that wonderful list of books! One of my favorites is Miss Hazelton’s Home for Shy and Fearful Cats by Alicia Potter. I recognized some of the stories from when my boys were young.

    1. Hi, Melissa! I just received this comment, because it went to my spam folder for some reason. I love Gaston, too! I’ll have to check out the other PB you mentioned. Thanks for reading and commenting! 🙂
