#50PreciousWords Writing Contest & More

Every year since 2016, author Vivian Kirkfield hosts #50PreciousWords. The requirements are: Write a story appropriate for kids ages 12 or under, that has a total word count of 50 or less. Check out all the sure-to-be-super stories here.

This is my third year participating. In 2019, my story To the Tip-Top! was one of the winners. Here’s my story for 2021.

Last Year

January: Joy!

February: Fun!

March: “Please stay home, everyone.”

April: Empty Easter.

May: A sad spring.

June: We’re missing. . .  EVERYTHING.

July: No picnics.

August: No pools.

September: Only lonely online school.

October: Scared to trick-or-treat.

November: Thanksgiving over screens.

December: One quiet Christmas.

But a new year brings . . .

VACCINES!

I’m delighted to share that my story Jana’s Valentine’s Visit won second place in Susanna Leonard Hill’s Valentiny contest last month.

Thanks for reading!

  1. Great entry, Sarah! Not only did you write a whole story in 50 words or less, you summed up an entire year. Best of luck!
